Mission:

St. John's Lutheran Childhood Center seeks to meet the needs of the whole child by offering a safe and quality education in a loving, Christian environment.

History:

St. John's Early Childhood Center is a ministry of St. John's Lutheran Church and has been serving the Merrick Community for over 25 years. We offer preschool programs for children ages 2-4, Parent and Me Programs, and a Summer Camp which runs for six weeks each summer.

School Environment:

At St. John's ECC, children are taught at developmentally appropriate stages. We use a child-centered approach with lessons focusing on the child's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development. St. John's offers spacious learning environments, indoor and outdoor play spaces, smart board technology, as well as a varied choice of additional learning opportunities through our add-on programs. These programs include dance, cooking, gymnastics, karate, and sports programs like Amazing Athletes and Super Soccer Stars. Through these programs, we strive to create well rounded young learners.
