The Only Preschool worth considering! We couldn’t be happier with our experience at St. John’s ECC. From the moment we enrolled our child, it was clear that this is a special environment. The amazing Miss Deborah and her (also amazing) staff are warm, caring, and truly dedicated to the kids, ensuring each child feels safe, loved, and encouraged. Not only are they a student, but they also become part of the St. John’s family.
Academia – Curriculums are thoughtfully designed to promote both academic and social development. The teachers go above and beyond to create a positive, inclusive, fun atmosphere. We’ve seen significant growth in not only our child’s academics but even more so in their confidence, communication, and social skills. St. John’s ECC gives students the tools that they need to excel.
Community- This school is about more than learning; you become part of something special. From day one we were welcomed into the school community through fun family events that made us feel like one big happy family. It is a place where our child (and our family) feels safe and loved. Countless memories created and forever friendships formed at St. John’s ECC.
Faith – St. John’s ECC fosters spiritual values in every aspect of its environment. Integration of Bible stories and prayer into their daily activities helped our child build a strong faith foundation and develop strong character through a deeper understanding of God’s love.

As parents, we couldn’t be happier with our experience at St. John’s ECC. From the very first day, the caring teachers and staff made our child feel welcomed, safe, and excited to learn. We have watched our child blossom academically and socially, making new friends and developing important skills in a nurturing environment. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, balancing play with structured learning so children are always engaged and curious. Communication with teachers on the Dojo App is ongoing and transparent, giving us peace of mind and regular insight into our child’s progress. We are truly grateful for the supportive community here and highly recommend St. John’s ECC to any family looking for a wonderful start to their child’s educational journey. The non-profit school is fair and reasonably priced compared to other schools and the after school programs have helped develop our child’s gross motor skills. The fundraisers offered are fun and interactive and are more than just buying things from a catalog. They involve the entire family, like pizza making night, and the money directly benefits the students such as the renovation of the playground. We have enrolled our second child for the 2025-2026 school year and we look forward to watching her grow and develop.

Our family joined St John’s ECC in 2018, we have been blessed to have spent the past 5 years there. The warmth, love and support this community has provided both our children is irreplaceable. The memories, traditions and friendships have been incredible for our family and children. Each teacher has shown genuine dedication to their students, God and the pillars of early education. We are happy to be part of the St. John’s ECC community! My daughter is halfway done her first year in the 2’s program and she loves it. We are grateful for the warm and nurturing atmosphere her teachers and staff provide. Our daughter comes home from school proudly showing off her art work, singing new songs, and talking about what she learned. She also loves to go to her gymnastics class - an add activity at school. She has learned basic tumbling, how to complete an obstacle course and basic skills that she tries to teach her little sister at home. We are looking forward to summer camp and our future at St John’s ECC!

My family has been lucky enough to be part of the St. John's ECC family since September 2018, when our daughter started in the 2s program. We felt at home from the minute she walked through the doors. We knew every day she was not only having fun, but was also safe, comfortable, and loved. When she graduated in 2021, she was beyond prepared for kindergarten - socially, academically, and emotionally: thanks to her time at St. John's ECC. Our daughter is now in second grade and still refers to St. John's as "her school." Our son started at St John's ECC in the 2s summer camp program in 2021, and he has loved every moment and experience since then throughout the 2s and 3s programs. We are so grateful for the St. John's ECC teachers, who've always treated our children as their own, and made them excited to go to school each day. The school is a loving and structured environment - fostering a faith-based community of kindness and charity. Our children (and ourselves!) have made the best friendships at St. John's thanks to the community they've created, and we will always cherish the memories of the best nursery school experience we ever could've asked for.

We love St Johns ECC in Merrick! This school had everything we were looking for in an early education for our son. The teachers, director, education program, religious perspective and extracurricular opportunities were above all expectations! We had our son in the summer program, as well, which provided him a continuous, familiar and fun environment. This school was more like a family and I am forever grateful for the experience we had.

My daughters both went to St. John’s ECC for their 2, 3, and 4-year old programs. I know it was a very positive experience for both of them because they can’t stop talking how much they love going to St. John’s. They didn’t want to miss a single school day because “we don’t want to miss all the fun, mommy!” It was like music to my ears knowing that my kids were in great (warm and loving) hands of St. John’s staff.
Because of St. John’s ECC, my daughters gained the necessary skills to do well in classroom. They benefited greatly in their daily preschool routine. It was an engaging learning environment.
We love Miss Deborah, Miss Annie, and Miss Liz. They are all great and the administration was always accomodating, communicative, and helpful.
I can’t say enough great things about St. John’s ECC. They have after school programs that my kids enjoyed, they have plenty of activities that our family loved. We had great memories. Very lucky to have been part of this school community. Highly recommend!
